The first AKC retriever hunt tests were held in 1985. HRC is another form of Hunt tests which was founded in 1984 and is affiliated with the United Kennel Clubs. There focus is to test your dogs ability to retrieve birds under any weather and waterfowl conditions.

The beauty of these trials is that you do not compete against anyone, only against ones self. Each dog is reviewed on their own abilities. We participate in both AKC and HRC hunt tests. Each program allows you to earn different titles with a series of levels. 

 

Judges score dogs on their natural ability to mark and remember a fall, on style, perseverance or courage. They are also scored on learned abilities such as steadiness, control, response and delivery.
